Safe Families for Children Des Moines is both volunteer-driven and professionally-supported, with our dedicated volunteers leading our community efforts while our professional team provides essential support and structure. Our team passionately invests their lives in strengthening families, engaging the church and community, growing the volunteer base, supporting and vetting volunteers and much more.
Our Volunteers
We are fueled by an incredible army of dedicated volunteers, who feel called to live out radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion. Volunteers serve a variety of roles who offer hope and help to families by hosting children for a temporary period of time to wrapping support around parents to providing services such as by mentoring, babysitting, transportation, respite care, connection to resources (employment & housing) to supplying tangible items such as clothing, diapers, car seats, meals, and household items.
